The Most Expensive Homes for Sale in Washington State

Much has been said about the soaring costs of housing in Washington, especially in boomtown Seattle, where newcomers have pushed housing costs to historic new heights, both in the rental and buying market. Since 2000, the Seattle-Tacoma-Bellevue MSA has grown by 700,000 new inhabitants – that’s more than Seattle’s entire current population. As a result, rents in the Emerald City have risen a staggering 43 percent in the last four years alone, with high demand expected to continue pushing prices further upwards.

And it’s not just rental prices that have gone vertical – the Washington single-family market is soaring too, with the Evergreen State now counted among the top 5 most expensive states for home prices nationwide.  According to Northwest Multiple Listing Service (Northwest MLS), single family home prices expanded 8.7 percent in 2016, while condo prices surged 12.6 percent higher compared to 2015.

Washington’s luxury residential segment is booming too, with Northwest MLS reporting a 21 percent sales volume increase in 2016. And while the top end of the Washington residential market isn’t sporting the jaw-dropping prices of the Hamptons’ or Florida’s most expensive homes, the Evergreen  State still boasts a plethora of pricy pads in some of the most breathtaking locations in the nation – and we’ve hunted down the 10 most expensive homes for sale in Washington right now.

Ranging in price from $15 million to $28 million, these homes are the best the Evergreen State has to offer, from spacious living and generous acreages to private beaches, helipads and equestrian facilities.
