7 Great Reasons Embracing Change Can Be a Powerful Thing!

Let’s keep it real: embracing change and becoming more daring can scare off even the best of us.

Most people like staying in their comfort zone as an entrepreneur. After all, they call it a “comfort” zone for a reason—even the term itself brings up profound feelings of calm, relaxation and security. But ultimately, something comes along to shake us out of it. Change happens to us all—it’s simply a part of entrepreneurship. And while some change is unquestionably good, we’re often faced with disruptions or situations that undoubtedly don’t feel very welcome.

The good news is that Embracing change and becoming more daring is not a hard skill to learn. And once you start looking at change as a great thing, you’ll be astonished at some of the benefits that can follow. Here are seven great reasons why embracing change can be a very good and powerful habit to adopt as an entrepreneur.

  1. Change helps you grow faster

Changes often force us to adapt in ways we’ve never experienced, which can be a key driver of entrepreneurial growth, personal power and development.

  1. Change teaches you to be flexible and go with the ups and downs

Try to think of change as something that gets you out of being stuck or same old, same old. By embracing change and meeting it head-on with enthusiasm, you can learn not to be so set in your ways—which can help you sustain a more positive attitude and have an open mindset.

  1. Change can and will challenge your values and beliefs

Reacting to change often involves re-evaluating your belief system and your success mindset. That’s not a bad thing—it gets you to recharge, refocus, and renew and fully own your personal power.

Because if you’re open to learning new ways of approaching challenges, you may find you learn something valuable. In turn, change may simply reinforce your trust in the belief system you already have. Whichever way, you become much stronger and more powerful.

  1. Change reveals your strengths

Without being forced to accept changes, you might never learn the true degree of your own strength and personal power—as well as your ability to adapt in new and often interesting and unexpected ways.

  1. Change makes you more empathetic and compassionate

When you become “too comfortable” in your own circumstances, it can be much harder to appreciate what others might be going through. Change reminds you to be kind and more generous when you’re considering the choices other people may make.

  1. Change breaks up routines

Some routines, like showering and wearing deodorant, are good to uphold. (Ask the people around you!) But other routines can leave you stuck—and perhaps even contribute to depression and stress.

By breaking up your routine, change keeps your mind active, refocusing your thoughts so your mind stays active and never becomes fixated on negative thought patterns.

  1. Change offers better opportunities

By altering the way, you are experiencing entrepreneurship, even in a small way, change can present better opportunities that can have a domino effect, providing you with better choices than you ever dreamed possible—so you can create a more fulfilling and happier business that you love.

Like any new habit, embracing change and becoming more daring takes some practice. Keep this list handy, print it and put it on your desk, or put it on your phone— so that the next time you’re presented with a change that seems a little intimidating, you can refer to it. Use it to remind yourself of all the positive impacts that change could—not only for you as an entrepreneur, but for all the people around you as well.
