Community Manager Appreciation Day is here!  Started in 2010 by Jeremiah Owyang, #CMAD is all about thanking the unsung heroes who nurture our online communities.

CMAD is 100% grassroots organized and groups around the world plan their own events, both online and in person.  The main place to find out what’s going on is on Twitter.

Last year, a small group of us were tasked at the eleventh hour with planning some more formal education over the day of CMAD, which was super fun (though very hard work!)  This year we thought we’d try something different, that might connect CMAD folks and showcase some of the events happening all over.

So we’re excited to announce a new CMAD sandbox!!  A brand new site we hope community managers globally will join and post their event activities. From there, we’ll decide together what we want to do with it and how to build it out so it provides a home base and a place to store resources throughout the year.
