new job/nervous

I start my new job on Friday the 1st. I am so nervous. I’m mostly nervous about doing the paperwork correctly because I do work for a company that works for the state. If I mess up on the paperwork, I can lose my job or cause delays for the company in getting paid, which would be a delay for me.

About the job: My official title is Trainer. Basically I’m a Mental Health Technician. I’ll be working at a house where the clients are mentally disabled men. There will be 3 moving in on the first and we’re still waiting to get two more clients. So I have to make sure that everything in their life runs smoothly and that they live independently as possible. I’m told this house consists of high level functioning people, so not much to worry about. But they are all men and I’m going to have to go in there with confidence and assertiveness. I have to set boundaries with these men and not let them take advantage of me. But like I said I’m mostly worried about paperwork. I’ll be working graveyard shifts.

I’m super nervous. Having anxiety attacks about it. So I’m a lot like these people I’ll be working with. I understand their illnesses because I suffer from some of the same things. I can relate.

I wish I had readers who could tell me how to control my anxieties and give me advice.
