Top 10 Ninja Techniques For Adwords

t’s been said too often that Google Adwords is only a money pit. Unfortunately for a lot of people it is…Here’s the good news: if you apply the 10 techniques in this article, you can easily increase your ROI 10 fold!

First of all, here are some basics:

Research your keywords! If possible, while building your site, target keywords that are relatively cheap with high search volume. Here are some tools to help: Good Keywords, Word Tracker, Google Sandbox, Overture Keyword Tool.

Also, make sure your keywords are used in 3-5% of your website’s content. The more relevant your site, the higher quality ad score Google gives you. And you guessed it: The better your score, the better your placement, click through ratio, and less cost! Many ads in the top 5 spots have a higher CTR and pay less per click than their less informed competitors!

And now for your easy short cuts to rake in loads of cash with Google Adwords:

1. Add “buy” and “purchase” to your keywords. This will help weed out the non-buyers. You want the people who have their credit card out and are ready to buy your product!

2. Achieve maximum traffic. I love this one: Set your daily spending limit to 5-10 times what Google recommends. This will ensure that your ads are running all the time. And you never actually end up spending that amount!

3. Exploit your ad groups: Create highly targeted ad groups with a small amount of relevant keywords in each one: Break up your keywords into small groups and make a separate ad group for each group of keywords.

4. Pack your ads with your keywords. Create ad variations for each ad group. Get creative and use different wording and structure while inserting as many keywords as possible. Note: try to only use the keywords that are in the ad group that you are writing for.

5. Eye Catcher! My favorite ninja technique of all: Google allows you to put copyright, and registered trademark symbols in your ads! ( © , ™, ® ) Simply copy these symbols and put one of them at the end of your headline. Make sure to put a space in between the last word and the symbol. This will make your ad stand out Big Time!

6. Relevant title. Make sure your landing page’s title is your best keyword(s). Put your best phrase or sentence with your best keywords in your title tags.

7. Eliminate non-buyers. In the last line of your ad put a price on your product or call to action. For example some good pricing ideas are: Get Started Now For $37 or We Teach You How For $19. Call to action examples: Register For Free Today Only or Sign Up Now And Get A Free Bonus. Doing this “qualifies” the person clicking on your ad. When they go to your landing page, there are no surprises. They know what they will have to pay, or they know they must sign up…or whatever.

8. Split Test your ads. Very important: When you start a new campaign with some ad variations you want to split test them. Make sure that "automatically optimize serving for my ads" is unchecked. It makes the best ads show more and for a split test you want an even distribution of impressions. *And don’t allow Google to optimize your ads until the split test is done.

9. Use Google's traffic estimator to get an idea of how much you should spend for clicks. Enter the max cost per click that Google suggests. The idea is to get your ads running all the time with a high quality score.

10. Super Ninja Technique: All of the guru’s say to turn off the content network. And for most part this is true. But what if you could only place your ad for, let’s say a weight loss product only on websites in the content network that are geared towards weight loss? Hmm…Now you can have highly targeted prospects clicking on your ads! Just go to start a new campaign and instead of starting with keywords, start with placements. You can select the websites in the content network in bulk by specific demographics…age, content, keywords, countries, etc. This is powerful and almost never used!
