Project 'C&C 39 Blue Raven racing yacht' completed.

The finished model flies an asymmetrical spinnaker off her bowsprit and the Ontario flag at her stern.

She's entirely a wooden model, the image below shows her hull and upper structure while she was still under construction.
Finished in her base coat white, she's really started to show off her elegant shape and sleek lines.
I do not often use any plastics and this model is no exception. Rails, mast and boom are made of aluminium, many other details are hardwood and the sails are made of a fine lawn cloth material.

The completed model still lacking sails is shown here.
The sails have been hand-sewn and special considerations had to be given to the spinnaker for two reasons. First, gravity does not work in the same way at scale, and second, wind is conspicuously absent from a static scale model.  Some compromises had to be made, but I think the result is quite acceptable and pleasing.
