Landlord Law Blog Roundup from 30 January

The highlight of this week for me was our Tenancy Agreement workshop which took place on Wednesday.  We were using the fabulous new University of East Anglia Enterprise Centre, a new environmentally friendly building.

A lot of care was lavished on this building – for example, we only learned later that a huge amount of effort had gone into the air quality.   Which is probably one reason why everyone seemed so comfortable there.  These things do matter.

Some people may think that there’s not enough to talk about on Tenancy Agreements to fill up a whole day’s workshop but believe me, at one stage I thought we weren’t going to get through the material!

It was interesting for me too and partly as a result of people’s comments I am in the process of amending and updating my Landlord Law Tenancy Agreements.

But what happened on the blog?

Monday

Did this tenant lose his defence to section 21 possession proceedings due to professional negligence?

This is a blog clinic fast track question. I answered the question asked in the post, but the real answer came in the comments.

Wednesday

Tenancy Agreements 33 days of tips – Day 4 – tenancy types

An important thing to consider when looking at tenancy agreements – not all tenancies are ASTs.

Thursday

Is a clause requiring a tenant to pay council tax unfair?

This post is based on a point raised by a delegate at my Tenancy Agreements Workshop.  What’s YOUR view?

Friday

Tessa Shepperson’s Friday Newsround #6

Ben’s not well at the moment so I am taking over his newsround until he feels up to it again.
