#2. Proper Heating is a Must
While doing the infrared patching, it is necessary to consider the amount of heat you are using for repairing the asphalt. The infrared repair process takes only 15 to 20 minutes depending on the air temperature, depth season and existing aggregate (typically 1 to 3 inches).
It is really important to keep in mind multiple layers must be heated individually and raked off. This is done because the lower levels can be easily heated and removed while repairing.
#3. Avoid Moisture
It is important to avoid moisture when using Infrared Asphalt repair method for critical asphalt defects. You need to avoid moisture such as rain and snow, as they have a tendency to seep into the cracks of pavements causing the supporting soil below to weaken.

Temperatures doesn’t make any differences while patching or repairing. However, it is important to look for low winds and ambient temperature while performing infrared asphalt repair. High winds and temperature fluctuations can affect the heat times as well as the material work times.
