Border Patrol Continues to Foster Community Relationships

Texas Border Business

EDINBURG, Texas – Throughout the Rio Grande Valley Sector, Border Community Liaison (BCL) agents continue to provide support for local community events and outreach programs.

On Friday, September 6, 2019, Harlingen BCL agents attended the Los Indios Police Department National Night Out in Los Indios, Texas. Harlingen BCL displayed some of the agency’s assets such as a riverine vessel, an all-terrain vehicle, and a CBP helicopter giving the community members further insight on how Border Patrol conducts operations.

Tuesday, September 10, 2019, the Fort Brown BCL agents along with Explorer Post #975 were invited to St. Mary’s Catholic School to speak to Cub Scout Troop 11. The Border Patrol Explorers delivered personal stories to Cub Scout Troops about their practical training and hands-on experiences in federal law enforcement-related activities.

That same day, Weslaco BCL agents attended Edinburg North High School and delivered multiple presentations to students interested in a law enforcement career. The students had an opportunity to learn about a rewarding career with the United States Border Patrol.
