Starting his career while still in school, Manjot Singh was rejected by the casting director of the film Oye Lucky Lucky Oye. It was later that the director of the film spotted his talent and landed him the role of Lucky . The movie went on to be a huge success at the box office and also made him a star. He also recieved the Filmfare Critics Award for Best Actor for the movie.
