February 5^th is National Weather Person Day, commemorating the birth of one of the first known weather watchers, John Jeffries. This national day is dedicated to all those who work in the fields of meteorology, weather forecasting, and broadcast meteorology as well as volunteer storm spotters and observers.

We want to take this opportunity to recognize all the weathermen and women who keep us updated on what's brewing outside. We rely on these people every day to provide us with accurate information about the weather, and they deserve a round of applause.

There's one thing you have in common with meteorologists; you watch the weather. They predict, and then (hopefully) you prepare; it's a team effort! No one would be ready for the floods, snowstorms, and high winds of life without these people's around the clockwork.
