StarHub Ltd (SGX: CC3), Released its 2018 1st Quarterly Result Update

Here are takeaway Points from StarHub’s latest quarterly results:

Revenue for the Quarter was down 4.7% YOY to SGD$561.0 million. The operating service revenue, which is recurring in nature, was down 1.4% YOY to S$450.8 million.

EBITDA ceased by 4.8% to S$152.2 million.

Gross profit margin fell from 32.8% to 32.1%.

Profit for the shareholders fell largely by 14.9% to S$61.5 million.

StarHub’s net debt stood at S$684.6 million and its net debt to EBITDA ratio stood at 1.09 till 31st March 2018. This is the bad sign for the management for debt to EBITDA above 1.

For March Quarter, revenue for the Broadband and Enterprise Fixed segments increased by 0.6% (to S$47.5 million) and 18.0% (S$117.5 million), respectively, compared to a 2017 March Quarter. But revenue for Mobile and Pay TV were decreased by 7.1% and 10.0% Y-O-Y.

StarHub management announced a dividend of S$0.04 per share for the March quarter, unchanged from a year ago. The dividend was higher than StarHub’s EPS of S$0.034 for the same quarter.
