Initially, they started out without a business model. It was just, “Hey let’s create an app that people can take nice pictures, upload them, and apply some amazing filters to.” It just took off from there.

What happens down the line when any platform seems to get a lot of users? There are a lot of chances for businesses to tap into the high-level engaging users.

Instagram has become very popular.  But first of all, let’s understand why users spend so much time on Instagram?

Instagram allows people to share their experiences and stories through photos and videos.

Users engage with image-based content more than any other on social media. So really Instagram leverages this power.

You also have an option for people to comment on your pictures.

It was very casual at the beginning. People were just sharing their life stories, their travels, what they’re eating and where they were out and about. Soon afterwards, people and businesses started to take it seriously.

Brands started to take notice because there’s a lot of users. They are spending time on sites like Instagram or other mobile apps similar to Instagram, as oppose to what used to dominate photo sharing sites like Flickr.

But if we take a look at these arrows, what do you start to see?

You see the sign which says ‘sponsored.’ As you would be browsing through your Instagram news feed (a collection of stories that people have put together), you decide which people to follow.

After some time, the sponsored sign showed up next to the images. This was where brands were starting to advertise on Instagram. Some users liked it while other users didn’t.

But if you are in business, which you are, and you are looking to grow your presence, your users could be spending more time on Instagram.  In fact, they might be spending more hours of the day on Instagram than any other network or platform out there.

Therefore It’s something for you to take in consideration depending on what you are selling right now. You should also be taking notice of Instagram as it is on the rise.

It also has a messaging feature so you can actually directly message different people and brands.

A lot of brands started to launch on Instagram, and their customers seemed to turn to the company’s Instagram page for customer service. Typically, what usually happens if anybody has customer service-related issues, they would go to the customer service department.

In the past, brands would usually say, “Hey, send us an email to this particular email address or go via our website and file a complaint or issue.” But what’s happened, is that a lot of consumers seem to go on to brands’ Instagram page and leave comments. This happens with both happy and unhappy customers.

So you can see how powerful this platform has become.

Nike is running an Ad with copy. It says, “Log your mile. Then run it back. Hit the road with the Nike+ Running App for a custom replay of your #fastestmile with Google Street View.”

Why Is Banner Ad Traffic Best For Blogs?

If you were to click on this Ad, it actually has a download button so Nike is really trying to promote their running app. They’re trying to reach the users via Instagram.

This is how Ads seem to appear on Instagram. As it seemed to grow, other companies started to take notice.

It’s a great place for you to go and build a presence online.

So initially having been a mobile app platform, it soon grew and then advertising opportunities recently came in.

It was not long ago, I believe, when they recently allowed a lot of advertisers to start posting their own Ads on Instagram. This rapidly increased an advertiser’s reach to over 400 million extra users.
