United States imposed a ban on China Mobile

A state-owned Chinese wireless carrier has been moved to be blocked from linking up with the U.S market by Trump administration due to national security issues. The CHL (China Mobile) needed to provide Mobile phones and other communication services between the U.S and other countries in the world. The company filed an application to the U.S regulators in back 2011 for a license. A branch of the U.S Commerce Department, the National Telecommunications and Information Administration recommended on Monday that the FCC (Federal Communications Commission) reject the request of the company. This move has been considered a move against a high-profile Chinese company. It might add another dispute between the United States and China regarding trade and technology.

The telecommunications agency said in a filing to the FCC that the U.S blamed China Mobile to influence, exploitation, and control by the government of China. The Executive Branch considers that allowing application of China Mobile might generate extraordinary and offensive risks for national security and law enforcement. They believe that allowing access to China Mobile in the U.S telecommunications market might cause attach by Chinese spying. All voice and other communications from the U.S government agencies to other international locations might pass using the network of China Mobile. It is important that China Mobile has over 900 million mobile customers. The filing has indicated that the Chinese company wasn’t looking to offer its mobile services directly to customers in the United States. Point to be noted that a Chinese smart-phone & telecommunications company ZTE has been facing crisis since April 2018.
