4 Reasons Why Your Business Should Have a Company App for Your Customers by Rachelle Wilber

There is an app for almost any task that you can think of. If you want to order a pizza, there is an app for that. If you want to organize a meeting, there is an app for that as well. In addition to increasing productivity, an app can also be a great marketing or advertising tool as well. Let’s take a look at some specific reasons why your company should have one.

See Who Knows Your Brand

People don’t take the time to download things to their Phone that they don’t need or won’t use. If someone has downloaded your app, it means that this person has looked through the app store, clicked on it and waited several seconds or minutes until it was loaded on their phone. At several different points in the process, an individual could have stopped the download or deleted the app from his or her phone or tablet. What this means is that this person wants to see or interact with content from your brand, which may mean that this person will convert to a paying customer down the line.

Make People Aware of Branded Content

A person is likely to check his or her phone multiple times per day. This means that he or she is going to see any important information that you send to that device. Therefore, an app can be the perfect tool to send out alerts such as a discount on services provided or a product recall. You should also send general news about the company or other content that an app user may be interested in. Doing so gives that person a reason to check the app, and those who see interesting content may decide to share it with friends. If content goes viral, it could help to increase brand awareness or even result in additional sales.

What if Your Other Customers Are Companies Themselves?

It is possible that you do Business with other companies instead of individuals. However, there is still a person who has to make a purchasing decision and defend it to their bosses. Therefore, you still want to have an app that has content relevant to its industry as well as content that offers ways to help those companies better reach their customers. It may be a good idea to build an app for the public and one that is geared toward your business customers. This allows you to tailor the apps in a way that is most meaningful to each target audience. Creating separate apps may be important because you don’t want to send newsletters or other content to the public that may have trade secrets or other sensitive information in them.

Sell Advertising Space on Your App

One of the best reasons to have an app is that you can monetize it. If you have thousands of people who see your content, other companies may want to take advantage of the audience that you have created. Even if the app itself isn’t intended to drive sales or increase conversions, it can still make money for the business. In addition to banner advertising, it may be possible to include sponsored stories or other sponsored content within the app itself. Depending on the size and reach of your audience, each post could be worth hundreds or thousands of dollars.

Regardless of how large or small your company is, it can benefit from a branded app. It provides the perfect platform to build an audience and convert it into paying customers. At the very least, it offers an opportunity to monetize the app itself, which may help companies diversify their revenue streams.
