18 August 2017, MCR World- On Thursday, the Kerala assembly has unanimously adopted the 2017 of Kerala State. From July, the assembly has replaced the ordinance promulgated in this regard to facilitate implementation of the new tax regime.

Several steps and actions will be taken soon to provide subsidies to the small as well as medium enterprises those were affected because of the GST implementation. In the assembly, while binding up the discussion, TM Thomas Isaac, the Finance Minister Assures to provide subsidies to the affected enterprises.

The Finance Minister also stated in the discussion that the Legal metrology department would be build up strong in order to check the price hike of commodities in the open market. The public distribution system would also be made stronger.

However, in the assembly, the opposition leader Ramesh Chennithala has questioned the minister about the hike in prices of essential commodities after the implementation of GST. The minister wanted a state level mechanism to address the grievances of consumers.

On Thursday, the House adopted the bill after a long discussion hours.
