Boom!Loved this one!I don't think I should be surprised anymore that I love Jo's writing.Pretty sure all her books are a hit for me, especially this series.
In Finding You, we have Jane Smith(you got that right,Jane Smith lol),who's been adopted and never comfortable in her own skin.Always polite and suppressing herself.But everyone has a breaking point and when she reaches hers, she books an impulse trip to Greece to find her birth father- who used to be a tour guide named Dmitri.
But fate has different plans for her, and when she lands, she finds a super hot tour guide (also named) Dmitri waiting for her.And lets just say the first meeting was quite awkward.But for some reason Dmitri is interested in getting to know her, and genuinely wants to show her the Greece she deserves to see.If only she would open up a little.Just when she's ready to give up on the search for her father,Dmitri convinces her that he'll help her if she goes off with him on an adventure around Greece.Will Jane take a leap of faith in matters of heart as well as life?
This was a really great novel about finding one's identity, beneath all the trademark Jo Watson comedy and romance.In the beginning it was so uncomfortable to read Jane's thoughts, because she wasn't comfortable with herself at all.But as the book progressed her confidence improved and she blossomed into a lovely heroine.The self-doubts, the fears and all her thoughts were so realistic.We never realize how much of our identities and characters are wrapped around the solid facts that we know about ourselves,our parents and history, till we read books like these.
Dmitri was a great love interest and the romance between them was so good!I loved the fact that he brought Jane out of her shell and he has such a good heart!There is always that typical twist in the end , thrown in to make the heroine doubt herself and the love interest.The one in this was atypical, but a good one.I was so sad for Jane in the end.Had me almost crying!
I love the close set of friends these girls have and the dynamics between them.I think the next book will be Val's?Please let her not end up with Matt.He sounds like a douchebag and she need not pine for him!

Jo's Top 5 Favorite Novels/Writing Influences
I’m a writer that doesn’t read that much to be very honest (I know! I know!) I download a lot of samples on Amazon, but hardly ever finish the book. Therefore, I’m not sure I can say any particular books, or specific writers have influenced me. But let me try and get a list of 5 together!
- TV- I watch lots and lots of TV. I think this has had a huge impact on my writing – mainly my ability to tell stories. I think TV is the best example of long form storytelling, and I watch a lot of it- for pleasure and with a critical eye!
- Good comedy- I’ve been a comedy writer for many years- for theatre, TV, film, online sketch comedy and now for books. I love making people laugh and entertaining them, and I guess humor influences my writing a lot. Writing and directing sketch comedy shows has also really honed my ability and style as a comedy writer.
- Music is a massive writing influence, I listen to it constantly, mainly Depeche Mode. I think composing music and writing books must be pretty similar, taking words and notes and stringing them together to make something totally new.
- Whatever caffeinated beverage I’m currently drinking.
- Mmmmm…. Um…. I guess I like to write in a very specific environment. It needs to be chaotic, colorful (to the neon extreme) busy, messy and disorganized. I like an environment like that and it helps me write. I’ve just put lots of pink flamingos in the garden in front of my office, and they make me happy when I look up at them. The environment I write in is important to me and I guess does influence me on some level.
