Hey guys, I've only done one Top Ten Tuesday* on my blog before, but I've decided to try and do at least two a month from now on. Top Ten Tuesday is a meme hosted by brokenandbookish.com that encourages bloggers to make lists of their top ten..... of a topic they provide every week.
This week, the topic is Top Ten Authors you've met or would like to meet. I've actually never met any authors, so my list includes my Top Ten Favourite Authors.
1. Malala Yousafzai. This amazing woman is the youngest nobel laureate, and has done great things for female empowerment around the world. Her autobiography "I am Malala" is one of my favourite books.
2. Agatha Christie. I know that this isn't a possibility, but I can't help dreaming about a day when I meet the "Queen of Crime"!
3. J.K. Rowling. Author of the "Harry Potter" Series, Rowling has been an inspiration to me since fourth grade. I haven't encountered another author who writes such heavy, yet fantastical material in the light style that she does!
4. Suzanne Collins. I've watched so many interviews where I've heard the author of the Hunger Games say that she developed the concept by flitting in between a reality show and war news-coverage on television. Inspiration really does lie everywhere for her.
5. Anthony Doerr. I've only read "All the Light We Cannot See" by Doerr, but I'm looking forward to trying out his other books. Meeting Doerr would be like meeting the creator of the Book Thief..... who ironically is next on my list!
6. Markus Zusak. While I love "The Book Thief", I don't particularly enjoy his other books. He is however a great writer, and it would be an honour to meet him. (I'm still halfway through "I am the Messenger")
7. Dan Brown. I am a huge fan of his Robert Langdon series, which is odd because I usually do not enjoy thrillers. His perfect blend of religious history and action makes for great novels that make me want to fangirl all over him!
8. Marina Budhos. I've only read two of Budhos' books, but "Ask Me No Questions" struck me as an extremely honest and emotional novel that touched my heart and that of many of my friends and family.
9. Rick Riordan. This list wouldn't be complete if I didn't include him. I haven't read every single one of his books, nor have I loved all of them, but he is a large part of my childhood, and therefore meeting him is a dream of mine.
10. Cassandra Clare. Similar to Riordan, I haven't read all of Clare's books, but I did enjoy most of them and I would LOVE to meet her!
