From Sara Shepard, author of the #1 New York Times bestselling Pretty Little Liars series, comes the shocking sequel to The Perfectionists—with an ending you’ll have to read to believe!
Mackenzie, Ava, Caitlin, Julie, and Parker have done some not-so-perfect things. But even though they all talked about killing rich bully Nolan Hotchkiss, they didn’t actually go through with it. It’s just a coincidence that Nolan died in exactly the way they planned . . . right? Except Nolan wasn’t the only one they fantasized about killing. When someone else they named dies, the girls wonder if they’re being framed. Or are they about to become the killer’s next targets?

Why Did I Listen To The Good Girls by Sara Shepard?

The Good Girls by Sara Shepard is actually a book I listened to instead of physically reading because I wanted continuity. You see, I listened to the first book in the series, The Perfectionists and thought it was okay. I figured I might as well continue via audiobook. Plus, I had a physical copy of the book on my shelf and a big need to cut down on my clutter with listening to this book and then unhauling it. Also, this book doesn’t require a lot of brain power to get into which is ideal for me right now.

What’s The Story Here?

The Good Girls basically picks up right after The Perfectionists. It follows the same previous main characters Mackenzie, Ava, Caitlin, Julie, and Parker. This time they are all under suspicion for the murder of Nolan Hotchkiss who is this total douchebag bully. You see, he is killed in the same way that they had plotted. Only, they never actually planned to go through with it. It was just blowing off steam. To make matters worse, more people are murdered – people who were on the wrong side of the girls. And so, it is a race to find out who the real murderer is.

What Did I Think Of The Good Girls?

So, I am so exceedingly glad that this series is merely a duology. I like that everything is solved in two books. I do not need to invest a whole lot of time in these books. If there had been more, I probably would not continue. The actual killer is totally a surprise and one that I did not see coming, especially in my current state of mind. Overall, these two books are fun, easy reads but also pretty thrilling. They make really good beach reads or you know books for when you do not have the ability to fully focus or concentrate.

How’s The Narration?

The audiobook of The Good Girls by Sara Shepard is narrated by Cassandra Morris. She also narrated the previous book in this duology. Honestly, my opinion and experience with her narration hasn’t really changed. I mean, I listened to the audiobook at 1.5x speed again. I felt like Morris’s voice does sound really young. Overall though, nothing super negative to say. I am glad that they continued with the same narrator because I dislike when they change narrators in the middle of series. If you listened to The Perfectionists you won’t be disappointed when you decide to continue via audiobook.
