World Book Day 2018 - Baking with Chloe

Hope everyone had a good world book day!
This year's bookish activity that Chloe (Forever Fictional) and I did was to create bookish cupcakes!!
Considering how much we failed at science experiments at school we were convinced this was going to end in disaster, but we succeeded!! (Well, no one has food poisoning yet...)
We used the BBC Food recipe - HERE and then made our own icing and decorations for each other to guess.

The making process:

First of all: Hamilton soundtrack is necessary!!!

1. Preheat oven and line tin with cases

2. Measure butter and sugar and mix it together

3. Beat eggs and stir into mix with vanilla extract

4. Measure flour and sieve into mix

5. Mix together

7. Put in oven

The icing:

 1. Add icing sugar and water

2. Mix until good consistency (we both realise how weak we are)

3. Add the colours you want

Decorating time!!!

(Those beautiful concentration poses)

We each created six masterpieces based on book covers or symbols within the books.

My cakes:

Looking For Alaska by John Green

When We Collided by Emery Lord
(A complete fail)

The Upside of Unrequited by Becky Albertalli

Turtles All The Way Down by John Green

Red Rising by Pierce Brown

Dorothy Must Die by Danielle Paige

Chloe's cakes:

 Flawed by Cecilia Ahern

A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J. Mass
Nightcourt symbol

Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi

Winter by Marissa Meyer

Percy Jackson by Rick Riordan
Poseidon symbol

The Call by Peadar O' Guilin

Overall it was way more successful than I expected and it was really fun.
Which is your favourite??
