Crown of Midnight-Book Review

“A line that should never be crossed is about to be breached.

It puts this entire castle in jeopardy—and the life of your friend.”

From the throne of glass rules a king with a fist of iron and a soul as black as pitch. Assassin Celaena Sardothien won a brutal contest to become his Champion. Yet Celaena is far from loyal to the crown. She hides her secret vigilantly; she knows that the man she serves is bent on evil.

Keeping up the deadly charade becomes increasingly difficult when Celaena realizes she is not the only one seeking justice. As she tries to untangle the mysteries buried deep within the glass castle, her closest relationships suffer. It seems no one is above questioning her allegiances—not the Crown Prince Dorian; not Chaol, the Captain of the Guard; not even her best friend, Nehemia, a foreign princess with a rebel heart.

Then one terrible night, the secrets they have all been keeping lead to an unspeakable tragedy. As Celaena’s world shatters, she will be forced to give up the very thing most precious to her and decide once and for all where her true loyalties lie… and whom she is ultimately willing to fight for.

My Thoughts

I agree Everyone was saying that this series gets better with every book and yes it is.

“To escape death, she’d become death.”

Celana Sardothein is working as a king’s champion in this book and a lot happen, literally a lot changed from the first book…I loved the way story’s theme changed to magical world.

Sarah J Mass is no doubt queen of series, and the way she manipulates readers that is just beyond Awesome, I decided that I am not going to root for any other after sam, and I  started rooting for Chaol without realizing until things became bad between chaol and Celaena.

“The rest of the world quieted into nothing. In that moment, after ten long years, Celaena looked at Chaol and realised she was home.”

I hope it is not the end of their ship, I want them together.

Nehemia, I don’t know why but I am not liking her character, it’s like she had hidden something big, and somehow trapped Celaena, Hope so it won’t be the case. She already has many issues on her hands.

“The best lies were always mixed with truth.”

I like Dorian as a friend, he is such a good friend, and I am really glad story didn’t turn into a typical love triangle…He still cares about her though he decided to let her go.

Archer’s character was so unpredictable, I felt every emotion for him a disgust to like, like to pity, pity to hate…Such a well developed character.

The twists of this book were not quite shocking, I saw them both coming but the way they came it left me screaming

There are many mysteries to reveal, many questions to answer.

P.s-It seems like Mass wanted me to move on from taking revenge to Farran
