Extra notes: I don't think I want to be known as an "influencer." I just want to be known as me.

This blog recently passed four hundred total posts. That's kind of amazing, because as I go along I delete a bunch. My fractal art, for example, is only up for about three or four months at a time before I take it down. I've also taken down my essays--as in all of them. I'm interested now only in providing samples of my fiction and poetry, as well as my digital art. I think for the most part I'm done writing essays. You can trust that if any come from me in the future, that they'll have been written for very foundational reasons.

Tears for Fears sang: "Everybody wants to rule the world." They wrote that song before the Internet. I can't imagine how they'd amend that declaration today!

Everybody is shouting, and no one is listening. The small, the precious, the quiet have no place in this cacophony. If you don't have thousands--no, more like millions--of followers, you ain't shit, Bessie. Too much of our attention is focused on far too few; way too much of our money goes to that select elite as well. They aren't elite by any genuine qualities they possess; don't get me wrong. The vast majority of them are there by less-than-admirable means and reasons. But that doesn't matter to most.

My little TLCAC subreddit has three subscribers: myself, Kye, and a friend from LA. I advertise it every day on the "main page" of Reddit itself, but no one ever subscribes. I know the reason. It's a nothing little subreddit, and folks want digital venues with millions, as I said earlier.

Blockbusterism rules the modern world. It's also destroying it.

I celebrate each day the tiny number of you who visit this blog. I don't know how many do; I long ago got rid of Google Analytics. I only see the general stats Blogger provides. Those don't elucidate the number of unique hits this blog receives, only the pageviews. I got rid of Analytics because it says virtually nothing truthful or timely. Google makes sure of that. Like Facebook, like Twitter, like all the rest of them, statistics are woven into behavior modification software that teaches you to check on them compulsively throughout the day. That sounds like conspiracy theory nonsense, but it isn't. Please go to YouTube and watch any of Jaron Lanier's talks. He'll set you straight.

I'm not an "influencer." I reject blockbusterism. I'm me.
