Overtaken: Captive States (Alien Invasion)

BOOK DESCRIPTION

They have come…
The skies over major cities all around the world have grown dark. Massive crafts from space block the sun, and the inhabitants of these ships want Earth for their own. The aliens have made their demands, and they are more frightening than anyone could have ever imagined. In this gripping alien invasion novel, human-like aliens arrive with the intention of taking over the planet for their own habitation. They intend to rid the world of humans, and have devised a method of determining who will live to see another day, and who will die, not worthy of life. The aliens are technologically advanced, and Earth’s powers that be cannot seem to figure out a way to victoriously thwart the plans of these aliens, known as the ‘Oppressors’. These alien invaders will test every last human and send the victors to a new planet to begin again, never to see their friends or loved ones. But only a small percentage of Earth’s inhabitants can go. Josh works at the Pentagon writing code, and his new found love, Kamryn, a brilliant computer hacker, worked together hacking the aliens in this apocalyptic survival novel.

REVIEW

A new take on the invasion concept, 11 May 2017
I’m a fan of alien novels, but I have to be honest when I say that Overtaken has a new take on the invasion concept, a couple of young adults saving the world with nothing more than hacking skills. Yes it is an original idea for sure. I personally would have liked to have more fighting or battle scenes. This is truly more of an intellectual alien novel, even the invaders are sorting out some humans through testing rather than annihilation. With that being said, it is a fresh concept. This would be a good book for a younger fan, or for women; it tends to lean toward the milder side of things.

This intriguing Si-Fi fantasy had my attention from the beginning. The story flows from scene to scene with ease, and the author shows exceptional skill when it comes to storytelling. There are twists and turns in this page turner that will take the reader on a fascinating journey!

It’s one of those stories that come along once in awhile that makes you want to read it non-stop until you get to the end. I’m giving nothing further away here. And this, I hope, will only add to the mystery and enjoyment for the reader!

I’ll certainly be looking forward to reading more from RWK Clark in the future! I would definitely recommend this book!

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

RWK Clark is a single father of two living in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Beginning his career long ago as a computer programmer, and working his way up to IT Director he ultimately decided that it is time to publish one of his novels. It is important to note here that Clark enjoys all forms of artistic expression and is an accomplished Fine Art Photographer in his own right, even having his own studio. He admires many great artists of the past and he pours the same hard work and dedication into his writing that he does his photography. This is a man who knows what he wants and he has worked tirelessly to achieve exactly that.
That same type of drive and devotion show up time and time again in his own books. Many times, the central character will have an insatiable thirst for a particular goal and will stop at virtually nothing to achieve it. While no one would ever assume that Clark would go nearly as far as some of his characters in order to achieve what he wants, it is obvious that he made a decision for himself long ago to create a life that was joyous and full of adventure and he has managed to make that goal become a reality.
Currently, RWK Clark has written numerous books, most of them dealing with some aspect of the supernatural realm. Some deal with zombies or witchcraft while others focus more on vampires and some even manage to combine the two. One thing is certain, if you enjoy this type of genre and you want a large body of material that you can read through, this is the ideal place to start looking. Clark’s books certainly never leave you disappointed but what they do accomplish is leaving you wanting to come back for more, again and again.
