Hey guys!! so way way back in August, Celine nominated me for the Unique Blogger Award, which I’m super honored by. Thanks Celine (y’all, go check out her blog if you haven’t already)!!! Well, I’ve been meaning to write the post for a bit, but have been sort of skipping it and it got further and further down in my drafts folder until I nearly completely forgot about it, but now it’s Thursday night at midnight and my post is due to go up in seven hours and I have nothing written (and no ideas) and so I found this award and i’m writing it!!

Anyways, that was a super long and probably unnecessary introduction, so straight to the award!

The Questions

• Why do you Love Reading?

This is honestly such a good question for me right now because I haven’t touched a Book since… September… (yeah i know i’m a terrible book blogger). A lot of that is because I haven’t had time but also because I just haven’t been that inspired to pick up a book and start reading it. Even in the small gaps of time I’ve had i’ve chosen to play on my phone or lay in bed or something instead of actually picking up a book. The real reason I fell in love with reading, though, is because of the escapism it brought me. I could read a book and become completely engrossed in that world, and the cliche “a reader lives a thousand lives before (s)he dies” really truly meant something to me. I would lay in bed at night trying to fall asleep and I could transport myself out into that world, and I would forget all of the anxieties that kept me up at night. And I loved the fact that I could become another person, if only i thought about it long enough. So for all of those reasons, I really need to start reading again, and I’m happy that this question brought some of those emotions back for me.

• What is your current favourite book?

Ummm… that’s always a tough one for me because I have so many favorite books all the time and I can never decide which book is actually my favorite, or what it even means to be a favorite soooo…. *pauses to have life crisis*… i’m going to have to go with the book that’s been my favorite for infinite time now. Sharp Objects by Gillian Flynn. The book was messed up but it drew me in so fast and wouldn’t let me go and I think about it on a weekly basis. It’s the only book I’d ever consider rereading, besides, like Harry Potter.

• Why did you start blogging?

Another great question given my current lack of motivation. The reason I started a blog originally was because I was using a lot of literary analyses and things that I found online on other blogs to help me do my homework, and I wanted to pay it forward and share my own work online for future students. But then, the reason I became a real book blog, was that I started finding other book blogs and thought it was a wildly cool community that I wanted to be a part of. As I write this answer, I sort of feel like i could write a whole post on why I started book blogging, so more on this later maybe???
