Life’s A Beautiful Illusion – A Believer’s Lament

I am really curious, did you ever think

That when you see my blue you see it as pink?

My eyes reading the light rays

They make the color of my perception

It’s merely a visional reflection

Of what’s going on in my head

I see you, feel and hear you

I love you so much I revere you

Can you see me?

Can you feel me in your heart?

Or is it all an illusion?

This isn’t crazy or depression talking

It’s a desire to know that this shared bond in the cosmos is real

If it’s true, let’s give thanks as we kneel

This blessed life is short like a sunset

Just like a firework show

As the day starts to slow

And the colors we see may be different from one another

As the sun sets our hearts sink in splendor

So we should surrender

This may be all we have

A life force coming to end

But oh, what a sweet ending

Let’s go off with a big bang
