Mabel "Madea" Simmons, a character played by Tyler Perry for almost two decades is said to be done with the angry, bad mouthed yet funny Movie character.
The reason for this according to Tyler in a recent interview is because he will be taking the character on the road for a live tour in 2019, at the same time releasing one final film and Madea will be finished.

Tyler says he isn't even sad about it, “I'm happy to kill that old bitch, I'm tired, man... I just don't want to be her age, playing her.”
The eight current Madea movies have grossed a half-billion dollars combined around the world and one more is on the way, but that will be the last Madea movie.
