Easter Dessert Recipes: Cookies, Candy, Cake…

We are going to my mother’s for Easter dinner and, as usual, I’ve offered to bring a dessert since that’s what I’m best at. After getting some inspiration from Karyn, I think I need to step it up a notch and make an Easter-themed dessert! I’ve rounded up several Easter dessert ideas below. You can help me decide what I should make for our family get-together instead of my usual cream puff dessert or Jello poke cake.

Easter Sugar Cookies

Karyn made these super cute Easter cookies. You can use my sugar cookie recipe with Easter cookie cutters and use Karyn’s beautifully decorated Easter sugar cookies for inspiration to decorate your own!

  • Cross cookie cutter
  • Bunny cookie cutter
  • Butterfly cookie cutter
  • Carrot cookie cutter
  • Use a round cookie cutter for the lambs. Notice Karyn used a similar marshmallow design on her barnyard cupcakes!

If making Easter cookies is too much work, you can buy homemade Easter cookies on Etsy!

Caramel Cream Chocolate Eggs

Jessica from Everyday Party Magazine made some delicious looking Caramel Cream Chocolate Eggs. I would’ve never thought to put white chocolate with caramel, but I want to taste these Easter candies now! And the speckled sprinkles are so pretty! Grab the recipe here.

Easter Cupcakes

Karyn made these beautiful cupcakes for a fundraiser, but I think the pastel colors are perfect for Easter cupcakes, too! You can make the cupcakes any flavor – have you tried Karyn’s Ho Ho Cupcakes yet? – then Karyn used a Wilton 2D decorating tip with a 16″ disposable decorating bag to get the drop flower look. Add colored sugar and pastel Sixlets to finish off these beautiful cupcakes.

Bunny Butt Cupcakes

I’ve seen a ton of Bunny Butt cupcakes and cakes lately, and they all looked like too much work to me, but then I saw on The Gracious Wife that you can actually buy a “Bottoms Up Bunny Cupcake Decorating Kit” to make these Bunny Butt cupcakes super easy! Read the directions here.

Easter Icebox Cake

Alli over at Made With Happy created this beautiful Easter Icebox Cake made with colored wafers and cream cheese in a springform cheesecake pan, but there was no baking involved! Grab the recipe here.

Chocolate Peep Brownies

Alli from Made With Happy also made these cute Chocolate Peep Brownies that you can make with boxed brownies (or use my homemade brownie recipe). Make the bunny molded candies for the brownie tops. Read the directions here.

Easter Brownies With Peeps

This Easter Brownies With Peeps recipe from Paula at Dinner with the Rollos is similar to Alli’s above except that it uses real peeps! Read the directions here.

Easter Strawberry Cake

This Easter Bunny Strawberry Cake recipe also from the Dinner with the Rollos blog sounds delicious with real strawberries in the recipe. And the shape of the bunny is made out of two round cakes. I believe my mom made this bunny cut out cake years ago, so I may have to try to recreate! Grab the recipe and tutorial here.

Right now, I’m leaning towards making a bunny cake to take as a dessert for Easter dinner, but feel free to try to sway me with your Easter dessert recipes!
