Like a lot people here in America I watch college and pro sports...Being from Philadelphia I naturally gravitated towards Philly teams and claimed them as mine. I have been a Philly sports fan since 1972. I watched owners, general managers,and coaches change over the years and i watched how are our teams' roster especially basketball would vary due to the racial climate of the time...For example....Can anyone name the 5 starters on the 76ers 1983 Championship team..Cheeks ...Toney....Doctor J...Moses..and Marc Iavaroni who started but didn't play much as we had Bobby Jones coming off the bench. Iavaroni was a starting forward on our team simply because he is Italian and the 76ers played in South Philly which at the time was heavily Italian...Couple of years they traded Moses Malone for Marc Ruland ( if he wasn't Italian to the front office it was close enough ) They thought Moses was done and they thought they could get that white player to appease the fans. But it backfired when Ruland ( who could play when healthy ) couldn't play one season because of foot injuries and Moses went on to play for 10 more years, mentoring younger players along the way as he did for Barkley for the short time they were together. But they couldn't see what i could see. You have to have someone who understands the players on and off the court. Someone who comes from where they are from..Look at people running the 76ers now...GM ...... VP....Coach....We have been horrible as a team for years now because the people making decisions are complete idiots who only got the job in the first place because of race...YES I SAID IT...- Talk about affirmative action ...White boys get the job just because they are white and connected to other whites for generations..My point is if the teams keep hiring these bums and paying them outrageous salaries and then fire them while still having to pay them and then hire another bum...My point is why can't I interview for the job???...Why can't i get the chance to coach the 76ers or any team..Some would laugh and say "Yea Right " but i'm serious. Being a Black Man from Philly I know the terrain...I know the history....I know the sacrifice...I would know my players on and off the court. We would all direct our energy to one thing and one thing only....Bringing a Championship for the city that had the guts to hire me...We would also give back to the communities where most of these inner city kids come from in the form of teaching valuable life skills such as....CREDIT......MONEY MANAGEMENT...BABY MANAGEMENT...BUSINESS AND JOB SKILLS......ETC.(.NO PRO TEAMS AS OF YET DO ANY OF THIS FOR THE CITY THEY REPRESENT)......All this to connect our team with our fans while giving back at the same time.. I would know what players to get and keep by their skills and character by their families and how they were raised....Players with heart who want to win even sacrificing personal stats for TEAM. To resurrect basketball or football in Philly let's say (or any city that will give me a shot)..To let your fans know that for the price of that ticket your team will leave everything on the field and play to win !!...My point is WHAT DOES THE TEAM HAVE TO LOSE???......In Philly we are already a comedy of errors (76ers) with they way they select player personal....Same exact thing with the Eagles...No Super Bowl wins ever...WHY NOT SHAKE THINGS UP ???..It will not be a publicity stunt or even if it is it won't matter once we win that CHAMPIONSHIP.....SO TO ALL THE OWNERS OUT THERE IN BASKETBALL AND FOOTBALL I HAVE THIS TO SAY....."ITS NOT .".GIVE A BROTHER A CHANCE"..ITS GIVE THIS BROTHER A CHANCE...MEANING ME !!....I can't be any worse than any of the white coaches you have hired for years now with no results. You will fire them soon and still have to pay them and then you will hire someone else white who will again rob you without a gun because he is no good also...These football coaches are horrible with their conservative play calling always playing to lose...Its very rare to have coaches that play to win like Belichick ..I would want fans to know that whenever we suit up we are going out give everything we got to secure the win....A more entertaining brand of football that wins !!..ALL I WANT IS A CHANCE TO COMBINE SPORTS WITH REAL LIFE MENTORING IN OUR COMMUNITIES WHERE MOST OF THE PLAYERS COME FROM ( THE HOOD.. SO TO SPEAK)...LETS BUILD A CHAMPIONSHIP TEAM THAT GIVES BACK TO THE INNER CITIES IMPROVING QUALITY OF LIFE FOR EVERYONE FOR YEARS TO COME....i KNOW HOOPS AND I KNOW FOOTBALL BUT MORE IMPORTANTLY I KNOW PEOPLE...I'VE STUDIED HUMAN BEHAVIOR FOR YEARS AND I KNOW THE STREETS......AND I'M CHEAP RIGHT NOW!! YOU CAN PAY ME HALF OF WHAT YOU ARE PAYING THESE BUMS UNTIL WE WIN IT ALL AND GAIN THE RESPECT OF THE CITY WHILE AIDING THE COMMUNITIES WITH RESOURCES LIKE CREDIT AWARENESS CLASSES ..THEN YOU CAN PAY ME SOME OUTRAGEOUS FIGURE...BUT YOU WILL BE PAYING WHAT I'M REALLY WORTH...A GM OR COACH SHOULD NOT GET REALLY PAID UNTIL THEY DELIVER.............AND I WILL DELIVER !!
