Coming Together As Christian Sisters

When you first become a Christian, It's always important to surround yourself with like-minded believers. The Christian walk is such a distinct one, and it's easy to fall. However, if you have strong people surrounding you, you'll be able to have a better chance of sticking with the course. As a woman, it's really good to connect with other Christian women. Consider these three ways you can make that happen.

 1. Get involved with your local congregation. One of the best ways to get started involves finding a local congregation and an active women's ministry. Most churches have men's and women's ministry programs. Once you get involved with a christian women's fellowship, you can attend the different events they have. You can also get an opportunity to make new friends and potential life-long connections.

 2. Find Christian communities online. There are so many women who are unapologetic about sharing their faith in the digital space. Some women are Christian writers and have books that they want to promote. As a result, they have created communities with like-minded women. You can easily find these women on social media platforms like Instagram, Facebook and YouTube. Just do a simple web search or use hashtags to find communities. Once you figure out the communities that work best for you, engage with them by commenting on their posts and sharing your own as well. Once you connect with these different communities online, know that some of them host several conferences, meetups and gatherings that allow you to meet many of these ladies in person.

 3. Begin volunteering with Christian organizations. One of the major components of Christianity is service. Your service to your community is a Biblical mandate. Whether you are working in the mission field, ministering to those in prison or feeding the hungry, it's important to actively engage in service acts. Find organizations with people who believe in active service. Whether you serve once a week or once a month, make sure that this is something you cultivate. When you cultivate this attitude of service, you'll be able to meet people who have the same mindset. You'll be able to serve alongside them and encourage one another along the way.
