I always like to try different products from different brands and figure it out for myself (and you guys as well) as to how the products are and if they stand up to the claims and expectations.
Recently, I received some products from MATT LOOK Cosmetics and, as always, I was very excited to explore this new brand and see how their products are. I received a variety of products from the brand’s latest range and I have been trying them since almost a month now before I penned down this review.
Here I go with all the important details and my experience of using these products from Mattlook cosmetics.
1. Pore Refining Face Primer
This is a gel based primer that claims to transform the Skin, instantly smoothen any imperfections, enhance skin’s radiance and provide hydration. This is available in ‘Natural’ shade which is basically suitable for everyone as the primer doesn’t really have any color. It’s a transparent gel cream and hence will work well for everyone.
Price: This primer is priced at INR 499 for 30gm.
My take:
– Universal shade
– Small quantity is enough as it spreads easily
– Leaves a good, smooth texture that forms a perfect base for makeup
– Doesn’t clog pores
– Skin doesn’t feel oily/ greasy even after longer hours of wearing it
– Holds the makeup intact for longer time
– Packaging is neat and easy to carry
– A little pricey according to me

2. Perfect Oil Free Concealer
This is a creamy, stick concealer. As per the company, the unique mineral concealing formula has oil free and soft texture. Its excellent concealing ability helps to cover skin flaws such as pores, dullness, fine lines, blemishes, etc.
Variants: The concealer is available in 6 shades i.e. Emphasize, Natural Light, Soft Focus, Light Sweep, Accentuaze, Give me sun.
Price: The concealer retails for INR 225 for 8gm.
My take:
– Easy to use, lipstick-style stick concealer
– Offers light to medium coverage. To conceal major blemishes, spots, etc you might have to use more product. However, when tried doing that, it takes time to blend properly into the skin
– Blends well
– Smooth and creamy texture that spreads evenly on the skin without a lot of efforts
– Doesn’t feel heavy on the skin
– Decent number of shade options available

3. Oil-Control Matte & Whitening Compact
A unique two part compact that I have personally seen for the first time. As per the brand, the light and bright soft powder of the compact is rich in mineral ingredients and natural moisturising factors. It highlights the complexion while concealing any flaws and creates a 3D facial contour effect.
Variants: Available in 4 shades i.e. Honey beige, White ivory, Rose blush, Natural fair
Price: This compact is priced at INR 259 for 20gm.
My take:
– You get two compact powders in one. One is a lighter shade and the other is slightly darker.
– The dual toned powder can be used to create a contoured look
– Very light on the skin and a small quantity is enough
– Light to medium coverage
– Doesn’t clog pores
– Stays for a few hours
– Might not suit people with very dry skin
– Pocket-friendly
– Some more shade options would have been good

4. Blusher
A liquid blush that comes in a Pump Style Bottle. The company claims it to be mattifying and long wearing.
Variants: The blusher is available in 4 shades i.e. Dangerous red, Fusion pink, Peach twist, Fuschia pink.
Price: This blusher is priced at INR 349 for 12gm.
My take:
– Cute packaging in a pump style bottle that dispenses small quantity of the product at a time
– Creamy texture
– Spreads easily on the skin
– Beautifully blends with your skin giving a natural blush effect
– Pigmentation is pretty light. If you want well-defined look, you might have to use more quantity of the product otherwise a tiny amount is enough for a natural look
– Doesn’t come off easily. Need to use a makeup remover to remove the blusher
– Limited shades available

5. Push Up Eyeliner
A liquid eyeliner that is long lasting and waterproof. Comes in a nice sturdy and Fancy Tube Container. There are no different variants or color options available in this eyeliner.
Price: The eyeliner retails for INR 185 for 6ml.
My take:
– Comes in a fancy tube container and has a good applicator brush
– Easy to apply
– Waterproof but spreads if rubbed with water
– If you have oily lids (like me), the eyeliner smudges a bit after few hours
– Staying power is good
