February 2018 Vellabox review time!
If you haven’t heard, Vellabox is a subscription box that specializes in high quality candles which they send to your door every month. Every Vellabox will feature all natural, clean-burning candles made by American artisans. They’ll also be non-toxic, lead-free, and likely hand poured. There are 3 different box sizes to choose from: Lucerna, Ignis, and Vivere. The Lucerna box will include one Candle (approximately 4 ounces) each month with a burn time of approx. 25 hours. The Ignis box will include one candle (approximately 8 ounces) with a burn time of approx. 50 hours. Finally, The Vivere box will feature two candles (totaling approximately 12 ounces) with a burn time of approx. 75 hours. Each box will also come with a small surprise gift.

Subscriptions are $10/month (plus $2 shipping) for Lucerna, $20/month (plus $2 shipping) for Ignis, and $30/month (free shipping) for Vivere. Vellabox ships only within the US at this time.

An info card pasted to the inside lid revealed the contents of all versions of February’s box, along with brief descriptions for each item.
My new candle was housed inside of a reusable Valentine’s Day themed drawstring bag with an allover arrow print/design.
Wooly Beast Naturals Rose City Candle
Okay, so if you’re a regular reader, you know I’m not a big fan of floral scents. Especially rose. However… This hand-poured, vegan-friendly soy wax candle actually isn’t all that bad. Yes, it smells like freshly cut roses, but not in a super overpowering/artificial way. I’m sure it helps that it’s almost Valentine’s Day and I’m embracing everything feminine and lovey, but this is one of the very few rose-scented items that I’m not gifting to a family member. It also gets bonus points for being 100% free of paraffin wax, palm oil, or beeswax and having eco-friendly cotton wicks.
Tahoe Flavor Toffee
February’s bonus gift was a piece of gourmet toffee from Tahoe Flavor. It’s handcrafted in Lake Tahoe using natural ingredients including hand-toasted nuts, milk chocolate, and sea salt.
Such a perfectly curated Vellabox for February! Not only do you get a lightly (yay!) scented rose candle to set the mood for Valentine’s Day, but you even get a chocolatey treat to nibble on as well.
