Let’s see what’s in the Summer 2017 FabFitFun box!

The whimsical Summer box!

A peek inside.

A full-color newspaper style booklet provided details on all of the items included in the Summer 2017 FabFitFun box, along with recipes, myths about SPF, 50 benefits of H2O, and more.

Michael Stars Ruana ($54)

I had never heard of a ruana until I saw this released as the first summer spoiler. Turns out, this rather versatile accessory can be worn as a scarf, sarong, draped like a shawl, or any other way you feel like rockin’ it. Personally, I think I’ll be sporting it as a coverup when I go swimming with my kiddos. (You can see it styled in the photo of the info booklet above.) It’s made of 100% viscose and annual subscribers were able to choose from 3 different colors/patterns. I don’t love animal prints (or tie dye), but I preferred black & white over the other color options.

BKR Bottle ($35)

This glass water bottle is protected by a hot pink insulating sleeve that’s BPA-free, phthalate-free, and FDA approved. It features a leak-proof cap, small mouth for spill-free sipping, and a lower carbon footprint than plastic or metal bottles. It holds 16 ounces of liquid and is top rack dishwasher safe. I’ve gotten quite a few different water bottles from subscription boxes and I have to say this is my favorite one to date.

Cargo Cosmetics Picture Perfect Highlighter in Bronze ($30)

Whoops! As you can see, my highlighter didn’t quite make it to me in one piece. I don’t think I would have used it anyway (I don’t use highlighters), so I’m not too bummed about it. I do wonder if this was a common occurrence with other subscribers though…

Kris Nations Mystic Bar Necklace ($58)

Ooh — I LOVE this! Annual subscribers were able to choose their necklace from 3 different color options — two of which had gold chains and one that was silver. Being that I’m not a fan of gold, I was thrilled to see a silver option and obviously selected it for my choice. The dainty necklace features a row of hand-cut howlite stones — which are said to enhance intuition and promote calmness — strung on a silver overlay chain that’s adjustable from 16 to 18 inches. Love it!

Avène Ultra-Light Hydrating Sunscreen Lotion SPF 50+ ($24)

A sheer, lightweight sunscreen with broad spectrum SPF 50+ UVA/UVB filters and powerful antioxidants. It’s also infused with Avène thermal spring water for an extra dose of hydration. Apply it alone or mix with your favorite foundation for extra coverage.

Juice Beauty Smoothing Eye Concentrate ($29)

Thanks to subscription boxes, I’ve gotten to try this organic eye cream a couple times already and am actually currently using it in my daily skincare regimen. That said, I’m happy to get another bottle for when my current one runs out.

Ready, Set, Create! Art Kit ($22)

All subscribers were able to choose between 3 different item themes — Traveler, Artist, or Chef. I went with Artist and received this cute art set that consists of an 8 x 10 canvas, brushes, acrylic paints, and an alphabet stencil. Not exactly a high end item, but I’m happy with it. It’ll force me to get creative, which is always a good thing. (Those who picked Traveler received a Passport Cover & Luggage Tag Set, and those who went with Chef got a Himalayan Pink Salt Kit.)

Way of Will 03 Soothe and Cool Massage Oil ($29.50)

This last item was also one that subscribers could “choose” by selecting one of two themes — Fitness or Beauty. I’m honestly not crazy about either one, so I just went with fitness. I’m glad I did because this cooling massage oil sounds pretty neat. It’s made with a base of sweet almond, apricot kernel, and jojoba oil and features the soothing scents of peppermint & chamomile. The info card suggests using it after a long workout (pfft!) or after a long day in the sun. I’ll definitely be going with the latter. (Those who chose Beauty received Klorane Dry Shampoo with Oat Milk.)

Yet another crazy good box from FabFitFun! My favorite items this season were the howlite necklace, eye cream, art kit, massage oil, water bottle, and ruana. The total retail value of the Summer 2017 FabFitFun box was $272-$287.50, depending which options you chose!  Remember — if you’d like to sign up for FabFitFun, you can save $10 on your first box (making your box just $39.99!) with coupon code “SUMMERLOVE“!
