Important Factor To Make a Logo More Attractive

With the development of the internet people wanted to share and gain information around the world in a single click, right before the era of internet most popular source of information was books. I am sure we all have heard of the statement “Never judge a book by its cover”, but I say people judge a book as soon as they see the cover. So there was a need felt by publishers to design attractive book covers, and guess what it worked…

The same thing happened to the websites as they became more and more popular among students, industries, household users, etc. But by that time people no longer liked plane boring non-attractive websites so there was a need to design attractive websites. This factor as a matter of fact does not only apply to books and websites but also to the material things, being a designer I often find it difficult to make artifacts that are useful as well as aesthetic.
Consider a car driven by A.C. motor, powered by lithium batteries, its energy efficiency is 135 Watt-hrs/km, its chassis is built by motors cars nice huh… now see the image of the car.
This is the “tesla roadster”. That reaction you have on the image of the tesla roadster is your aesthetic response that’s involuntary. Aesthetics as a matter of fact are very important part of designing. When I first saw this logo of Facebook, I was very much impressed by its design it gave me a feeling of friendliness, calmness, and was something

that was appealing to the eyes, so and henceforth I made an account on Facebook, now on the other hand if the logo of Facebook would have been somewhat like

It signifies something childish, thing that is for kids and would never have even taken a second look on the facebook media no mater how much useful or fun it might be from inside. A major factor in the popularity of these social media websites has been the aesthetics, color, design of the logo, its interface design.

How do I create a nice interface or an attractive logo of my blog or my website or any thing that you might want to publicize over the internet?

These are some of the major factors that might help you in making your own design.

GLOSS - The RSS feed’s logo under uses gloss quite effectively, and as humans we are attracted to gloss almost universally and especially initially. Research that psychologists have done suggests that our fundamental attraction to gloss is based on evolutionary advantage that our predecessors had in being able to detect water. One of the only objects that is glossy in our evolutionary past is the surface of water and so what’s happened in modern times is that we as designers have discovered that we can stimulate that response of attraction to certain things with gloss.
CUTE - This feature is widely used in design often quite intentionally the twitter logo is an example of playing the cute trick on the users so if you look at the logo of twitter it has curved edges with a very cute font and a little bird these are the hallmark of cute features, and if you think about the evolutionary adaptation for cute is quite clear, people are attracted to cute things. It’s a very deep and effective technique to evoke positive response.

HUMAN “PHYSICS COMPUTER” - We often have a response based on what I call the human physics computer, as humans we developed an ability to make predictions about structures and dynamics of objects. This is an example of the logo of Adobe Reader; this logo has its interlaced loops forming the alphabet “A” that cause an immediate response of it being intriguingly attractive.
I hope you guys enjoyed reading this article and it may be helpful in designing your own artifacts for display over the internet.
