How to Raise Your Metabolism

There are many ways to Raise your Metabolism. Drinking green tea on a regular basis raises your metabolism as well as cayenne pepper. However, I am going to concentrate on what is, by far, the most effective way to raise your metabolism so that your body becomes a fat burning furnace and burns calories at a higher rate even in your sleep.



The trick is to throw your body into a state of metabolic shock. To do this we will be doing compound weight lifting exercises. This works in two ways. First, the more muscle you have the harder your body has to work because muscle weighs more than fat and, consequently, burns more fat throughout the day. Second, compound exercises like the clean and jerk, squats, dead lifts and others exert so much effort that your body's metabolism changes.



But, let's turn it up a notch. If you do what is called high intensity interval training you raise your body's metabolism yet again. This is simply moving from exercises to exercise with little rest in between. But, let's not stop there! If you use a kettlebell, which looks like a cannonball with a handle you can burn up to 20 calories a minute while you are working out. This is because there is a cardiovascular element to kettlebell lifting that is absent with other weight training.



But, let's not stop there either. If you workout wearing a backpack filled with sand you will be turning up your body's metabolism even more.
