After the success of Better Than Sex, anyone would think that Too Faced has mastered the formula for the best mascaras in the market! So the news that they are launching a new Mascara sounded so exciting. Yet at the same time, the beauty community was curious if it would surpass its predecessor’s success. If you are too or if you are simply looking for a new mascara, here’s my review of the Damn Girl! 24-Hour Mascara by Too Faced to see if it’s meant for you! Damn Girl! 24-Hour Mascara by Too Faced For reference, I had used the Better than Sex in the past but I was honestly not blown away. I mean it does the job but I didn’t find it so outstanding. Honestly, I found other mascaras like L’Oreal’s Voluminous Lash Mascara that works as great at a fraction of the price. So now that that’s out, let’s move forward with the Damn Girl! 24-Hour Mascara by Too Faced! What is it? Damn Girl is a volumizing mascara that promises to lift, lengthen and lock the curl of your lashes for up to 24-hours! It has a creamy mousse formula for extreme volume sans the heavy feel. It also claims to be Smudge and Flake resistant, non-fading and has an intense black colour. What Do I Like About It? The packaging is amazing! Let me tell you that! I find it unique and really just aesthetically beautiful. I specifically like the shape and colour of the tube which for me represents the collection’s name- feminine but edgy! However, my absolute favourite about the product is that it actually does provide quite a lot of volume! I have very thin lashes and I find that this mascara helped to thicken my natural lashes thus making it look voluminous and longer. It is also very smudge-free so it provides you with a clean application and finish. Because of this quality, you won’t be looking like a raccoon at the end of the day which for me is really important! Also, I’d like to point out that this mascara is oil-free so it’s safe to use if you have lash extensions. Personally, I’ve been still using this even after I got my very first lash extension a few weeks ago and it’s safe! It was easy to remove with an oil-free cleanser or even just a micellar water. It is also long-lasting. Although I find that the 24-hour claim is a bit too much since I would like to believe that no one actually needs a mascara for that long. However, it does last all day! I wear it for about 10 to 11 hours a day and it’s still pretty much intact! What Didn’t I Like About it? Now, what’s apparently different about this mascara compared to the Better than Sex is the formula. Personally, I am not a big fan of it because of a few reasons. One, it is too creamy for a mascara which can make it really tricky to use. It also has a tendency to clump and can give you a spider-like finish if you are not careful. A mascara’s shelf-life is usually six months but because of its formula, you can easily say that this mascara won’t last you that long! It dries very easily when being applied and the product itself dries out rather quickly. I bought this mascara about a month ago and it’s already drier than the other mascaras I bought before it. Too Faced also boast this mascara’s infinity brush. It is larger than normal mascara brushes and definitely thicker. This helps to add volume to your lashes however, it is not very easy to use. In fact, it can be really tricky! You don’t think a mascara brush can be tricky but this one is! The major reason is that the bristles absorb so much of the product. Although this can be a good quality the problem is it doesn’t spread the product evenly. It just hugs the product and dispenses it as is. The result is a messy looking lashes! This is also not ideal to be used on your lower lashes. Again that’s because of the big brush which is a big bummer for me since I like wearing the same mascara for my upper and lower lashes to make it uniform. The Verdict! Overall, I’d rate the Damn Girl! 24-Hour Mascara by Too Faced a 6.5 out of 10. I like that it delivers what it says it would so I wasn’t duped! Yay! I love how volumizing it is and how it helps to lengthen my lashes but it definitely has a lot to improve. I am not a big fan of the product’s consistency and formula and I wish that Too Faced can make some slight changes to fix this since this mascara is very promising. Still, I’d say that it may not be worth it to spend $25.00 USD for this mascara since there are a few cheaper mascaras that can work the same if not better than this one! The best way is to get a sample and see if it’s working for you before deciding to buy the regular size or even the travel size version. Have you tried this mascara? What do you think about it?
