In 1945, Ajit Doval was born in Ghiri Banelsyun village in Pauri Garhwal in the Uttarakhand. Doval’s father was an officer in the Indian Army. His early education was completed at the Ajmer Military School in Ajmer, Rajasthan. He graduated with a master’s degree in economics from the University of Agra in 1967.After completion of master’s degree, in 1968 Ajit Doval joined IPS in Kerala cadre. Due to his good service in the police department, he was selected as an Intelligence officer in Intelligence Bureau(I.B.) which is India’s internal spy agency.
The first successful operation of Ajit Doval happened in 1968 during the Mizo National Front insurgency.He was actively involved in anti-insurgency operations in Mizoram.
During the Mizo National Front (MNF) insurgency, Doval won over six of Laldenga’s seven commanders. He spent long periods of time incognito with the Mizo National Army in the Arakan in Burma and inside Chinese territory. From Mizoram, Doval went to Sikkim where he played a role during the merger of the state with India.
He was trained under M K Narayanan, the 3rd National Security Advisor of India for a brief period in counterterrorism operations.One of the most difficult missions in which Ajit Doval played a crucial role was Operation Black Thunder. Ajit Doval disguised as a rickshaw puller outside the Golden temple and convinced the guards that he was an ISI agent. He became an integral part of the Khalistani militant’s internal group and passed on vital information outside to IB which saved a lot of lives during the operation. He convinced Khalistani militant to surrender in front of the security forces.Ajit Doval is a master of disguise. He was in Pakistan as a RAW operative for almost 7 years.Even Pakistan didn’t know about that. He himself revealed this in a speech at the IIT.
He played important role in Kashmir to destabilize the terrorist organizations. He used terrorist like Kuka Parray to become counter-insurgents targeting hardline anti-India terrorists.
Doval was one of three negotiators who negotiated the release of passengers from IC-814 in Kandahar in 1999.He is responsible for terminating all 15 hijackings of Indian Airlines aircraft from 1971-1999.
China started to interfere in Indian subcontinent region after 1999 mostly. Due to bad foreign policy or ignorance of previous UPA government, India paid the price. They interfere in Nepal, Srilanka, Bhutan. This was big security threats for India. China supported Srilankan newly elected government of Rajapaksa.Rajapaksa played China card against India, that’s why he was at the target of Ajit Doval. At the time of Srilankan election, Ajit Doval and RAW played an important role. As expected Rajapaksa lost the elections and his presidency to Maithripala Sirisena. This was the masterstroke of Ajit Doval.
