In the Arms of the Mighty Brahmaputra

Tags: river
The River Brahmaputra is the only male river of India. It is one of the biggest rivers and carries a large amount of water and silt. The Brahmaputra River is the backbone of the state of Assam. The river along with its tributaries is the major source of water for the states of North East India. The river, although seems calm, carries very strong currents underneath.
The sunset and sunrise on the banks of the river is mesmerizing. One can enjoy the serene landscape of the river from Dibrugarh town. There is also a facility for boat ride offered by the local fisherman.
Recently, my sister and I along with one of her friends went to the banks of the river to enjoy the sunset. There we went for a boat ride which was really relaxing for us. The gentle breeze blowing (although it is winter in here) created a tranquil atmosphere for us.

Most of the river had dried up and the water was not too deep. We could see river base, but towards the mid portion the river gets very deep. There in the silence we enjoyed the beautiful sunset.
