MAKEUP MYTHS... BUSTED

MYTH
Moisturizing your face and body isn’t necessary with an oily Skin type
BUSTED
The prime job of a moisturizer is to lock moisture in. Not drinking enough water throughout the day compromises the top layer of our skin, forcing our sebaceous glands to produce more oil to compensate. Even if your skin produces oil in vast quantities, lack of water will result in tight, itchy, flaky skin in addition to the excess oil. Glycerin, aloe and hyaluronic acid are just a few of the humectants found in most oil free moisturizers that work well with Oily Skin types as they lock in your skins Natural moisture and keep it from drying out while not clogging up your pores.
MYTH
Dark eyes should only be worn with neutral lip shades
BUSTED
Bottom line, it’s all about balance. If pairing a deep lip shade with only mascara on the eyes leaves you feeling a little washed out, pump up those peepers with some liner or shadow until it looks right and feels right to YOU. So, whether your makeup motto is soft and subtle or loud and proud, makeup was, is and always will be a magnificent method of self expression and individuality.
MYTH
Eyebrows should match your hair
BUSTED
Technically, this is accurate if you don’t colour treat your hair. If you do colour treat your hair and your natural shade is darker, your brows should match your natural roots. If your natural shade is lighter, your brows should match the colour you've treated your hair with.
