The Great Importance and History of Islamic Months

The Islamic Calendar plays a vigorous role in setting up of time and significant proceedings in lives of their particular supporters. There many Calendar such as Gregorian, Chinses, and Hijri Calendars. According to Holy Quran,

“It is He who made the sun a shining light and the moon a resulting light and strong-minded for it stages – that you may know the number of years and account [of time]. Allah has not shaped this excluding in truth. He details the signs for a people who know.” [Quran, 10: 5]

Names of Islamic Months

There are 12 months in the Islamic Calendar, are given below,
• Muharram
• Safar
• Rabi ul Awwal
• Rabi ul Sani
• Jumad ul Awwal
• Jumad ul Sani
• Rajab
• Shaban
• Ramzan
• Shawwal
• Dhu al-Qa’dah
• Dhu al-Hijjah

Muharram

This is a very 1st month of Hijri Calendar and considers as the Holy Month. Many incidents have occurred on the Day of Ashura 10th Muharram such as Allah created the Hazrat Adam (A.S), Hazrat Yonas (A.S) came out from the stomach of fish, Hazrat Yaqoob (A.S) met with his son Hazrat Yousaf (A.S), Karbala incident and many more. According to Hadith,

“The best of fasts besides the month of Ramzan is the fasting of Allah’s month of Muharram.” (Muslim)

Safar

Safar is the second month of Islamic Calendar. In the pre-Islamic time, people believed that Safar brings mishaps and diseases. According to Hadith,

“I have heard the Prophet saying, the descendant of disease and sinful misconception occurring in the month of Safar is untruthful.” (Muslim)

Rabi ul Awwal

This month is famous because our Beloved Prophet (PBUH) was born in this month and He migrated to from Makkah to Madinah.

Rabi ul Sani

Due to spring, its names Rabi ul Sani and 4th month of Calendar.

Jumad ul Awwal

This month is famous because Holy Prophet (PBUH) married with Hazrat Khadijah (R.A) and His grandfather Hazrat Mutlib (R.A) died in this month.

Jumad ul Sani

Its named by Arabs due to the winter season.

Rajab

This month is important of an incident of Miraj when Holy Prophet (PBUH) went to Skies and took a gift of Salah for Muslims.

Shaban

This month is famous because of Shab-e-Barat which is held on 15th Shaban.

Ramadan

This Holy Month is famous for Fasting and Laila tul Qadar. Allah Says in Quran,

“O, you who have faith in, commanded upon you is fasting as it was commanded upon those before you that you may become virtuous. [Quran, 2: 183]

Shawwal

This month is famous for Eid ul Fitr. According to Hadith,
“Whoever fasts Ramzan and follows it with six days of Shawwal, it will be as if he fasted for a lifetime.” (Muslim)

Dhu al-Qa’dah

In this month, Battle of Khandak took place and Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) return to Makkah for Hajj.

Dhu al-Hijjah

The most important pillar of Islam Hajj is occurs in this month and a large number of Muslims come here from every corner of the world to perform this obligation with december umrah packages 2018 Birmingham and get the blessings of Allah.
