The Much-Awaited Mitsubishi Outlander Launched in India

The Much-Awaited Mitsubishi Outlander Launched in India for Rs 31.54 Lakh

Yes, the much-awaited Mitsubishi car is among our midst. Mitsubishi Motors has finally launched its all-new Outlander SUV in India in just one variant at Rs 31.54 lakh (ex-showroom, Mumbai), and it’s fully loaded one. SUV, the Japanese brand has taken 6 years almost to launch its new model in the Indian market and was confirmed for India by Mitsubishi back in August last year. The last generation Mitsubishi Outlander was over six years old and launched as a facelift in international markets in 2015, and has been brought in as a CBU.

The Indian-spec Mitsubishi Outlander looks a bit more premium now and measures 4,695 mm in length, 1,810 mm in width and 1,710 mm in height. Powered by a 4B12 2.4-litre MIVEC petrol engine, the new Outlander features LED headlamps with LED DRLs, LED front fog lamps, and LED rear combination lamps.  It has naturally aspirated petrol engine that is tuned to produce167 PS at 6,000 rpm and 222 Nm of torque at 4,100 rpm.

The wheelbase stands at 2,670 mm wheelbase and a 190 mm ground clearance and is mated to a CVT gearbox with a full-time 4WD system. One of the exterior highlights of the new Outlander is that it looks much sharper thanks to the new front-end which has a lot of angular elements, anti-tapping sunroof, rain sensing wipers, heated mirrors, keyless go, 16-inch alloy wheels and the sleek-looking headlamps add to that look.

In India, the Mitsubishi Outlander is available in a 7-seat version with the second and third rows that can fold flat to liberate more luggage space. Inside the cabin, there are a whole bunch of features like the leather seats, a 6.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a 710-watt Rockford Fosgate sound system, leather gearshift knob, an electric parking brake, and the paddle shifters for the CVT automatic.

In terms of safety feature, the Outlander also gets six airbags, ABS with EBD, ASC and HSA which of course, considering there’s just one variant, are standard, hill-start assist and active stability control.

The Mitsubishi Outlander comes to India as a CBU and the company officially started accepting bookings through its website last month.
