Apple Watch Series 3 Cellular with LTE Connectivity, Apple is now all set to launch the cellular edition of the watch Series 3 in India, after the successful launch of the Apple Watch Series 3 late last year.

The sale will go on from May 11, a week after two telecom operators Jio and Airtel announced pre-bookings of the wearable in the country at no additional cost. In India, both Regular and Nike+ variants of the Apple Watch Series 3 Cellular will be available for purchase through country’s two most prominent telecom operator users- Airtel subscribers via Airtel’s online store, and Jio subscribers via Jio.com, Jio stores, and Reliance Digital outlets. Those who pre-booked before May 11 via Jio will get free launch day delivery subjected to pincode.
Apple Watch Series 3 with a built-in LTE and GPS connectivity will available at starting price of Rs. 39, 080 which allows users to use Apple Watch as a standalone device. This smartwatch with cellular connectivity is capable of making calls, sending and replying to SMS, even streaming music, and receiving notification without requiring iPhone to be in the proximity.
The Apple Watch Series 3 LTE also comes with Siri integration to send a message or stream music on the move. The smart standalone watch comes with an electronic SIM that mirrors the phone without your phone. Also, it has partnered with Airtel and Reliance Jio in India for it so that it mirrors the phone number you use on your iPhone.
The Cellular variant has 16GB onboard storage and runs on an improved dual-core S3 processor which the company claims to be 70% more efficient over its predecessor. On the software front, the Cellular edition has a big upgrade as it runs on the company’s WatchOS 4 with an additional W2 processor to deliver fast Wireless and Bluetooth connectivity. Other specifications such as water resistance up to 50 metres under the ISO standard 22810:2010, heart rate sensor, and barometric altimeter, remain same.
In India, the 38mm size version of cellular connectivity is priced at Rs 39,080 and the 42mm variant is priced at Rs 41,120. Apple Watch Series 3 Nike+ with LTE and GPS will available at Rs 39,130 for the 38mm size while the 42mm variant is priced at Rs 41,120.
The Apple Watch Series 3 Edition with LTE connectivity and a ceramic case is priced at Rs 1, 18,030 for the 38mm version while the 42mm version of the premium edition is priced at Rs 1, 22,090. However, the Series 3 Edition is currently limited to only Jio’s network. In order to connect your iPhone to Apple Watch Series 3 LTE, users will need to update to iOS 11.3 and watchOS 4.3 then need to head to General > About and follow the prompt to update to the latest carrier settings. The compatible iPhones with the Apple Watch Series 3 are iPhone SE, 6/6 Plus, 6s/6s Plus, 7/7 Plus, 8/8 Plus and iPhone X.
