HOW STRONGLY DO YOU BELIEVE IN YOURSELF: PART ONE

This is the first step to achieving success in your life, and in finding that peace of mind that will make you confident in the face of any challenge. Unfortunately, it looks as if we are more overwhelmed by the negative situations happening around us.

Often times, things happen and it seems we have no control over them --negative things, I mean; unplanned for events. Take for instance, a sudden loss of job; a loved one falling ill unexpectedly, or even the death of a good friend. Yes, you might quite agree that such events cannot be controlled, but they do have enormous effects on us. How about the day to day challenge of overcoming our failings in achieving set objectives like making more money; getting our dream jobs; attaining the health that we really want, amongst many?

Negative things do happen, as well as positive things. But it is our ability to understand ourselves, our strength, weaknesses that should put us in the perfect know of what to expose ourselves to, or protect ourselves from. When we leave life to chance, not deliberately checking our actions, and not understanding those things that happen from time to time --including the unexpected --it can make us prone to become victims of circumstance.

As humans, we are designed to improve continually, to be able to predict a likely event, and to take proactive steps in protecting ourselves from likely harm, as well as achieve set goals. We also have the capacity to withstand shock, which makes it easy for us to control our minds and our actions towards the events of life. It's all a matter of our positive self belief to tackle these activities, or how we choose to react in the face of a downturn. A negative self belief is not only destructive, but can rob us of the ability to do those things we are capable of doing, and becoming the persons we were suppose to become.

The crux of the matter is, whatever our challenge, it's all in the way we see ourselves --our ability or inability to confront the issue at hand. A feeling of helplessness in any situation only worsens the problem. Fear, self doubts, are very strong negative forces which can cloud our minds of possible solutions to whatever challenge we face, and consider too, the psychological as well as health trauma we may suffer in the long run.

To attain that self worth, or have that strong sense of self belief, we must learn to study and understand ourselves, and to understand our environment. This self study should be constant as things do not stay the same in life. If you are not sure of yourself, how then can you guarantee your safety in the hands of another? Banking on luck is dicey.
