#metoo

so this #metoo movement has started in our country. so many women and even men are coming forward to Speak about the sexual assaults happened with them. there are more than 1.5 million posts on Instagram on the hashtag #metoo. and I want to highly focus on the fact that harassment doesn’t happen only at the workplace or on a lonely road, it happens at the most bizarre places, the theaters, hostels, a family friend’s home, and sometimes in our own homes too.
I don’t even remember how many times I’ve cried listening to my friends’ stories and telling them about mine. the people who have never experienced the harassment have no idea how horrible it is, how many years it takes to mentally get out of it. and about the people who harass, they get away with it so easily, first, they don’t accept it, even if they do, they don’t feel guilty, and what can I say about the laws in our country. some victims don’t speak about it because somewhere they know that they will be overheard or blamed or no one would believe them in the first place and of course they won’t get justice. but now the revolution has started and I want people to speak about it, no matter if you are a woman or a man.

I don’t know who the hell came up with “ladki ki naa mei hi haan hoti hai“. you have no right to touch a girl, or to show her your stuff, or to ask her questions so personal that makes her uncomfortable. if it’s a NO, then it’s a ‘NO’, doesn’t matter if she is your girlfriend or your wife you can’t force her just in the name of love. this has happened with #metoo.  I am totally in support of this metoo movement and I just want to say that don’t ever let anyone take advantage of you and even If something happens, please don’t keep quiet, come forward and tell your story, show those idiots that what they have done is wrong and we will not keep quiet and this needs to stop.

at last, I just want to say that I have seen girls supporting those men who are wrong, who are clearly at fault, just because they are their friends, or cousins, or whatever doesn’t mean they can’t do anything wrong with anyone. open your damn eyes, and of course your little minds.
