Kama Ayurveda Eladi Hydrating Day Cream: Review

Hey Beauties,

Welcome to my blog once again.

Kama Ayurveda is one of the luxurious ayurvedic brands that deals in bath and beauty products. Started in 2002, Kama Ayurveda claims to be 100% natural and products free from harmful chemicals and preservatives.
As I love to try out natural skin care products, I went to their store in Noida. The store was beautiful and the sweet scent of their natural incense stick was so alluring.
One of the store beauty advisors came to me and I asked her for a moisturizer that would suit my combination skin. Kama Ayurveda has only one variant available for moisturizer and on her advice, I picked up the Eladi hydrating day cream for me. She handed me a sample for their soap-free cleanser called Mridul to try on.

Let us talk more about Eladi Hydrating Day Cream by Kama Ayurveda.

Product Description

A nourishing Ayurvedic day cream that moisturizes, softens and protects for soft, smooth and clear skin.
Made with the blend of pure ingredients, this formula is prescribed in the ancient Ayurvedic text of Ashtanga Hrudayam as the ideal skin treatment of herbs processed in pure coconut milk and sesame oil. Costus and cardamon are known for their Varneekarana properties- the ability to enhance skin texture. Costus is especially known for its soothing effect on the skin. Also contains Aloe vera which has antiseptic properties, prevents acne, blemishes, fine lines and gives adequate sun protection. Olive oil-derived extracts enable high skin absorption without stickiness or heaviness. Pure essential oils of  Rose and Jasmine purify and nurture for naturally healthy looking skin.

What it claims?

My take on Kama Ayurveda Eladi Hydrating day cream

Packaging

It is securely packed and placed in a small carton with all the information written over it.
The cream comes in a round glass container with two lids. It also contains a small wooden spatula to take out the desired amount of cream from the tub.

Overall, the packaging looks really great, but not travel-friendly. You may need to transfer it in a travel sized bottle to avoid any damage to the glass tub (although, the tub is made of thick glass).

Texture

Kama Ayurveda Eladi Hydrating day cream is rich and thick white creamy in texture. While trying out the cream at the store, I felt it heavy but the beauty advisor said that it would absorb quickly without making it look heavy.
It smells good and not overpowering at all. The scent fades away quickly.

This cream takes a lot of time to blend and absorb into the skin because of its thick texture. After cleansing and toning, I sprayed my face with rose water and then applied the cream to let it absorb easily into my face. Still, it took a lot of time to get into my skin.

**Though, it felt good on my face as a day moisturizer. But after few days of regular using it, I could feel my pores clogged 😞. I didn't realize at first, but gradually noticed more blackheads and whiteheads on my T-Zone (which is oily) and small bumps all over my face. As soon as I realized, I immediately stopped using it and visited a dermatologist for my skin situation.

She told me not to use a heavy moisturizer, as I have combination skin which is prone to get oily. It took almost 2 weeks to get back to my normal skin with medicated face wash and hydra facial (performed by the dermatologist). So for me, it didn't work out and proved wrong whatever it claims.

I wish Kama Ayurveda soon introduces a light moisturizer for people with oily and combination skin. Because this would definitely not work for oily skin people.

Rating

1/5

** It clogged my pores causing breakouts and bumpy skin.

Guys, if you have normal and dry skin, Kama Ayurveda Eladi hydrating cream might work for you because of it rich and moisturizing texture.

But all my beauties with oily or combination skin, I would not recommend this product for you. It broke me out bad and I don't want any of you to try it just for the sake that it is Ayurvedic and derived from natural products.
It also has an artificial scent which is not overpowering but I don't like it.

I am currently using it for my dry hands (because of the cold weather) and it is really keeping my hand soft and well moisturized.
