Introduction

In this article we are going to learn How to make Bootable USB drive of Windows 7 or Windows 10. In fact you can use this trick to make bootable USB drive of any latest Microsoft Windows. Previously everyone used to use CD/DVD for installation of operating system but for some reason if the DVD got some crash on it then you cannot use that to complete the installation. Hence to overcome from this issue you can use your Pendrive/USB Drive and make bootable of your required OS. To do so we are going to use a tool called Rufus. It is one of the most easy and user friendly tool you can use to do this task. So let’s get started.

Follow the below steps to make Bootable USB drive of windows 7/windows 10

Step : 1

You have to follow 5 simple steps to make bootable USB. So First you have to download the Rufus from it’s official website. The size of the setup would be at most 900 KB and you don’t have to install it as it’s an portable application.

Step : 2

After above step just connect the USB drive on your computer and open the Rufus application. You will get the below screen in front of you. Here as you can see on device field it’s showing your pen drive.

Now little below of the application you will get an option i.e. Create a bootable disk using (By default it is Ticked). Here select ISO Image from the drop down list as we are using Windows 7 .iso image.

Step : 3

Now click on Drive icon (available next to ISO Image option). Highlighted on below Image.

Step : 4

After click on the Drive icon the application will ask you for Windows 7 .iso image. Just select the image and click on Open.

Step : 5

Now click on Start button to make bootable USB drive of Windows 7.

Note : During above process the Pen drive will completely format. So make sure to take data backup before start the above process.

The process will take some time (May be 20 to 25 minutes). Post completion you will get a READY message. Refer the snapshot below.

Now you can use the Pen drive to install Windows 7 on any system.
