Calm 80s designs

During the 80s there designs are very much the opposite to the 60s design. The 80s design consists of pastel Colours and the 60s design consists of bold and bright colours. As you read down the list you may read some compariosions between the 60s and the 80s.

During the 80s chinese designs and ordaments were used to decorate the room using blue and white colours and every room in new York who was wealthy would have the delicate ordanments on show.  The 80s design would use pastel colours to paint in there room, where the 60s design would use bold and bright colours on the walls and furniture. In america the country style because very popular in kitchens. In the 80s the first ever open plan kitchen was designed and built so it became popular as everyone wanted to have a open plan kitchen. However just in the sixties when they used Bold Colours everywhere, the 80s also used bold colours however the bold colours were incorpated into the design through abstract artwork and cushions. Furniture would have been covered in a black and white striped fabric which would have made the furniture look smart and preppy. We get shabby chic from the 80s design which I think could have been true but it is true. And finally some designs in the 80s would have been styled to match a Japanese zen design.
