Toyota’s full-size Tundra will definitely get a new-generation “suit”. The outdated pickup truck will host a number of changes inside and out, as well as very important improvements under the skin. According to the latest reports, the front end will get Camry’s grille and headlights, while around back the truck might feature a complexly new technology. The cabin is crying for more technology right now, so this should be the main focus.

2019 Toyota Tundra Engine Options:

The new platform will reportedly be able to host some new engine options. Still, we are not so sure whether the carmaker prepares anything except gasoline mills. Some sources claim that the truck could get a diesel or even a hybrid powertrain, but we have nothing confirmed. On the other hand, our insider claims that the 2019 Toyota Tundra truck is getting a new base option. In place of the current 4.6-liter unit, the producer will add Lexus’ 5.0-liter V8. The unit currently delivers 394 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque, but the output may be raised to 400 hp and as much pound-feet. As for the topping 5.7-liter V8, it’s should be replaced by a new –generation engine, which will also get improved efficiency and power.

Price and Release Date

The completely redesigned Tundra for 2019 will make its debut in the first half of 2018. The all-new truck should be priced around $32,000.

Its main competitors are Ford F-150 which will also get a diesel engine, and it is also rumored that it may get hybrid powertrain very soon, 2018 Nissan Titan diesel and Chevy Silverado.
