Zoe Saldana is all about gender neutrality. The celebrity mom tells Women’s Health that she is not the boss of her household and proud of it.
“That ‘Mom’s the boss’ thing is not going to happen in our family, because that means he’s the fun one, the good guy, while I’m the disciplinarian,” she explains. “I don’t want my kids to look at women like, ‘Oh, god, they’re so annoying! They always come with structure.'”

Part of the reason why Zoe does not feel the need to assert her authority as a woman in a house filled with boys and a man is because of her husband, Marco Perego. “I have the most perfect partner in my life,” she tells media. “I’ve never met a male like my husband, who [believes] any woman is naturally his equal.”
A great dynamic between husband and wife has a way of rubbing off on the kids. “My boys are a constant source of strength for me,” Zoe says of her life as a mom. “They keep me on my toes, reminding me how much I still have to learn and grow as a person.”
