One of the most triumphant person in the world with one of the genius brain, he, Elon Musk is one of a kind.Son of a Canadian mother and a South African father, Elon Reeve Musk, is a South African business magnifico, contrarian, engineer, and inventor born on June 28, 1971.

Musk’s Education :
Musk did his undergraduate study from Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario at the age of 17. He then transferred to the University of Pennsylvania and received a Bachelor of Science degree in physics from its College of Arts and Sciences, and a Bachelor of Science degree in economics from its Wharton School of Business. At the age of 24, Musk moved to California in 1995 to begin a PhD in applied physics and materials science at Stanford University.

Musk is also a co-founder and former chairman of SolarCity, co-founder of Zip2, and founder of X.com, which merged with Confinity and took the name PayPal. As of October 2017, Musk has been estimated to have a net worth of $20.8 billion, which ranked him in the 2017 Forbes 400 as the 21st wealthiest person in America.

> Zip2 : In 1995, Musk and his brother, Kimbal started a web software company named Zip2. Zip2 allowed for two-way communication between users and advertisers. Users could message advertisers and have that message forwarded to their fax machine. Likewise, advertisers could fax users and users could view that fax using specific URLs. In February 1999, Compaq Computer acquired Zip2 for US$307 million.

> X.com and PayPal : In March 1999, with US$10 million from the sale of Zip2, Musk co-founded X.com, an online financial services and e-mail payment company. PayPal Holdings, Inc. is an American company operating a worldwide online payments system that supports online money transfers and serves as an electronic alternative to traditional paper methods like checks and money orders. PayPal is one of the world’s largest Internet payment companies. The company operates as a payment processor for online vendors, auction sites and other commercial users, for which it charges a fee. In October 2002, PayPal was acquired by eBay for US$1.5 billion in stock, of which Musk received US$165 million. In July 2017, Musk purchased the domain x.com from PayPal for an undisclosed amount stating that it has “great sentimental value” to him. X.com was one of the world’s first online banks. Its deposits were insured with FDIC. It had a partnership with Barclays.

> SpaceX : Musk founded Space Exploration Technologies, or SpaceX, in May 2002 with US$100 million of his early fortune. SpaceX develops and manufactures space launch vehicles with a focus on advancing the state of rocket technology for enabling the goal of reducing space transportation costs and the colonization of Mars. SpaceX is both the largest private producer of rocket engines in the world, and holder of the record for highest thrust-to-weight ratio for a rocket engine. SpaceX has produced more than 100 operational Merlin 1D engines, currently the world’s most powerful engine for its weight. > Tesla : Tesla, Inc. (originally Tesla Motors) was incorporated in July 2003 by Martin Eberhard and Marc Tarpenning. Tesla Motors first built an electric sports car, the Tesla Roadster in 2008, with sales of about 2,500 vehicles to 31 countries. Tesla sells electric powertrain systems to Daimler for the Smart EV, Mercedes B-Class Electric Drive and Mercedes A Class, and to Toyota for the RAV4 EV. Musk was able to bring in both companies as long-term investors in Tesla.

> SolarCity : SolarCity Corporation, a subsidiary of Tesla, Inc. specializes in solar energy services and is headquartered in San Mateo, California. SolarCity not only markets, manufactures and installs residential and commercial solar panels in the U.S and also provides other energy services. The company merged with Tesla Inc. in 2016 offering energy storage services through Tesla, including a turnkey residential battery backup service that incorporates Tesla’s Powerwall. The company, also in partnership with Panasonic, operates the Tesla Gigafactory 2 in Buffalo, New York, where it manufactures solar module components.

> Hyperloop : A hyperloop is a proposed mode of passenger and/or freight transportation, first used to describe an open-source vactrain design released by a joint team from Tesla and SpaceX. On August 12, 2013, Musk unveiled a concept for a high-speed transportation system incorporating reduced-pressure tubes in which pressurized capsules ride on an air cushion driven by linear induction motors and air compressors. Hyperloop One, a company unaffiliated with Musk, had announced that it had done its first successful test run on its DevLoop track in Nevada on July 13, 2017. It was on May 12, 2017 at 12:02 a.m. and had lasted 5.3 seconds, reaching a top speed of 70 mph.

> OpenAI : In December 2015, Musk announced the inception of a not-for-profit artificial intelligence (AI) research company, OpenAI. OpenAI aims to develop artificial general intelligence in a way that is safe and beneficial to humanity and “freely collaborate” with other institutions and researchers by making its patents and research open to the public.

> Neuralink : In 2016, Musk co-founded Neuralink, a neurotechnology startup company, to integrate the human brain with artificial intelligence. According to Wait But Why(WBW)’s report published in April 2017, it was said that, Musk aims the company to make devices to treat serious brain diseases in the short-term, with the eventual goal of human enhancement.

Musk is a kind of person to think randomly and act expeditiously. On December 17, 2016, while stuck in traffic, Musk tweeted “Am going to build a tunnel boring machine and just start digging…” The company was named ‘The Boring Company’ thereafter. In February 2017, the company began digging a 30-foot-wide, 50-foot-long, and 15-foot-deep “test trench” on the premises of Space X’s offices in Los Angeles.
