So recently I was asked to test the new Batiste 2-in-1 Dry Shampoo and conditioner. I was so excited because I am pretty addicted to the original Batiste dry shampoos, since my hair starts getting oily after 24 hours.
It claims to "remove excess oil while adding nourishment making it perfect for hair types not traditionally suited for dry shampoo."
To be completely honest, although I am pretty addicted to dry shampoo, it has been leaving my hair a bit dry and ratty recently, due to it being dyed blonde. I thought this would be a good product to test against normal dry shampoo and see if it did actually make any difference. I wasn't expecting much (because how can a dry powder condition you hair?) but I was willing to give it a try. I read the booklet that came with my pack and noticed immediately their "new way to spray." I was intrigued as I was so used to just directing the spray straight to my roots and rubbing it in. This new way involves spraying it in a halo shape around your head and then massaging the roots to pick up any oils. I was sceptical but ploughed on regardless.
I started with day old hair at the end of a work day
It wasn't the worse I've ever used dry shampoo on, but definitely needed a refresh. I used the halo method and waited a moment before gently massaging it into my roots. To be honest, my roots didn't feel much different to normal dry shampooing, but then I ran my hand down the length and i was surprised to feel how soft it was. It's just a shame that the spray hand't gone all the way to the ends, but maybe if I had shorter hair it would have done. As you can see from the photo below it also gave my hair a bit of an oomph and a touch of volume.
Batiste were also kind enough to send me a travel sized can too which would be perfect for refreshing your hair straight after work. I often go out for dinner with the girls from work straight from the office so this would be perfect to fit in my handbag.
Overall I was thoroughly impressed with Batiste 2-1 Dry Shampoo and Conditioner. Despite initial scepticism it has really impressed me an I will definitely be purchasing it.
